Conditions Physiotherapists can treat to enhance your recovery and restore your quality of life

Appointments available both in clinic and in your own home.

Nerve pain

Nerve pain, often characterised by a burning, tingling, or sharp sensation, can significantly impact your quality of life. In physiotherapy, understanding the underlying causes of nerve pain is crucial for effective treatment. Physiotherapists utilise a range of techniques, alongside patient education on posture and body mechanics, to alleviate pain and improve function.

Neck and back pain

We utilise a combination of manual therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and education to help alleviate pain and restore function. Techniques such as soft tissue massage, joint mobilisation, and stretching exercises are commonly employed to relieve muscle tension and improve mobility. Additionally, tailored exercise programmes aim to strengthen the supporting muscles, enhance posture, and promote overall spinal health.

Post operative recovery

Physiotherapy plays an essential role in helping people to regain their strength, mobility, and independence following surgery. We look at your specific needs and design a personalised rehabilitation programme that may include exercises to improve range of motion, strength training, and techniques to manage pain and swelling.

Strains and sprains

Both are common injuries that can significantly impact mobility and daily activities, often requiring effective physiotherapy for recovery. A strain refers to the overstretching or tearing of muscles or tendons, while a sprain involves the ligaments that connect bones at a joint becoming overstretched or torn. Early intervention is crucial, as it can reduce pain and swelling and promote a quicker return to normal function. Tailored rehabilitation programmes focus on restoring strength, flexibility, and movement patterns, ensuring individuals can safely resume their pre-injury activities.

Exercise plans

We can create personalised exercise plans, tailored to your current ability and focused on helping you to achieve your goals - whether they may be to pick up your grandchildren or run a marathon!

Massage

Serving as a complementary treatment that enhances recovery and promotes overall well-being. Massage techniques can help alleviate pain, reduce muscle tension, and improve flexibility.

Ultrasound therapy

Ultrasound therapy is a widely utilised modality that employs high-frequency sound waves to promote healing. With its ability to penetrate deep into soft tissues, ultrasound therapy can facilitate quicker recovery post-injury and improve overall function, making it an invaluable tool in a physiotherapist's toolkit.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture, an ancient practice rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is increasingly being integrated into physiotherapy to enhance patient care and rehabilitation outcomes in the UK. By stimulating specific points on the body with fine needles, acupuncture aims to promote natural healing, alleviate pain, and reduce inflammation.

Pilates

Focusing on core strength, flexibility, and mindful movement, Pilates complements traditional physiotherapy methods, aiding in the recovery of various musculoskeletal conditions. Physiotherapists often incorporate Pilates exercises into treatment plans, helping patients enhance their body awareness, improve balance, and regain functional independence. This integration not only empowers individuals to take an active role in their rehabilitation but also promotes long-term health through sustainable movement patterns.

We offer both 1:1 sessions and small group exercises classes.

Chair based classes are available for those who have difficulty getting on and off of the floor.

Have friends or family who are interested too? We can organise a group session of up to 4 people just for you.

Are you part of a club or organisation? We can come and teach a class at your premises for groups of up to 10 people.
